This restaurant was a favourite of my father's for several decades. The first thing you will notice upon entering the restaurant are the fresh seafood tanks filled with exotic fish and shellfish, the stacks of dried shark's fin and abalone, sea cucumber, fish maw and other traditional fine dried delicacies.

What impressed us most about this restaurant was the obvious pride the staff took in the quality and uniqueness of their food. They were knowledgeable, had personal favourites and were eager to please. It was like walking into a bookstore where the staff had read the books. Something we can appreciate. The staff were also multi-lingual, speaking Hokkien and Teochew in addition to the usual Cantonese and Mandarin.

The food itself was a quirky take on traditional Cantonese food, with a rustic bent.

Chicken wings stuffed with glutinous rice.

Almond soup...

...with pig's lungs, chicken feet and pork meat.

Steamed garoupa.

Peppercorn crab in hot pot.

Xiao long bao.

Shark's fin with crab roe and egg.

Dou miao sauteed with garlic.

Kai lan, Chinese sausages and preserved duck...

...over rice hot pot.

Complimentary dessert.
